The switchbacks of the Doubs River wind through romantic hillsides with sheer Jurassic rock outcrops on both banks. The Canal du Rhone au Rhin uses the bed of the Doubs River on this section, with the old tow path on the south bank now serving as the quiet and safe bike trail, while cars and train traffic remain on the opposite side.
