The Col de Bastanet is 2,509 meters above sea level. It offers a splendid view of the various Bastan lakes.

Located at 2,509 meters above sea level, the Col de Bastanet opens a gateway between the peaks of Bastan and Portarras. From the pass you can follow the ridges towards the east or towards the west up to the two peaks mentioned. Once you have crossed the pass (you will have to make a good effort on the elevation side), you reach a beautiful basin which precedes a large plateau with new lakes to discover, in a much more mineral atmosphere. At 2,500 meters the vegetation becomes rarer.

From here it goes back over the Lac Superieur to the Refuge Bastan, which is also called Le Bastanet. see image.
