The Great Lake Pinnow is located in the Pinnower Forst in Lassaner Winkel. The lake has a length of about 1.3 km and a width of about 690 m. Its origins go back to the last ice age.
Above all, the north and east shores are blurred and difficult to access. On the southwestern shore of the lake is a very pretty little swimming area (beach). The very clear water invites you to swim.
There are no significant surface waters in the lake. Since the construction of a drain in the 20th century, the water level dropped significantly. After its closure, it has risen again and reached after heavy rainfall in May 2013 a recent high.
With a depth of 15.2 m, the Great Pinnower See is the third deepest lake in Western Pomerania. The water quality in the lake is of high quality. Measurements in 1997 revealed high visibility depths of 4.8 m to 5.2 m.
