A very old, very beautiful church with massive walls. Unfortunately it was locked. In addition to a sundial, the special feature of this church is an outside, covered pew from which you can look inside through a window. That's common around here. Unfortunately, I haven't been able to find out what it's all about.

A church with a long history. A small booklet in front of the covered entrance tells about it. Unfortunately the church is rarely open. But you can do it like the pilgrims used to do - the barred window on the west side allows a view inside, even if the church itself is closed.

The branch church of St. Pankratius in Meggenthal is a late Gothic tuff block building that was built around 1480. Originally there were three bells in the bell room, of which only two are left today. The largest bell was pulled in and melted down during World War II. For a long time this bell was given supernatural powers. It is said that the sound of the storm kept it away from the village, which is why it was always rung when a thunderstorm threatened.
