“The medieval Ländtor was built in the 13th century as one of 8 gates in the city wall. While most of them were just towers, the Ländtor had a kennel in front of it.

The actual gate tower was located in the line of houses on Ländgasse towards the city and was demolished in 1852 as part of the expansion of Theaterstrasse. The two still preserved flank towers with the remains of a battlement were once the outer gate of the kennel. The Landshut city coat of arms is emblazoned above the passage. ...”
