Very nice town center with great restored houses. There are some taverns where we haven't stopped anywhere. Otherwise there are some sights such. B. The castle ruins above the village or a show cave with a climbing park.

From the ruins of Velburg (622 m) you have a fantastic view far into the Upper Palatinate Jura, which is expressed here with the lovely Kuppenalb. Unfortunately, large parts of this beautiful landscape east of Velburg belong to the Hohenfels military training area and are therefore not accessible to the public. Small but nice, this is how the city center of Velburg presents itself. "The origin goes back to the year 1153. The establishment of the town charter privilege can be verifiably dated to the year 1410. The historical town square with the town hall designed in neo-Gothic style and the colorful houses is impressive." (Homepage of the city)
