The waterfall is designed as a scenic gem with over 200 erratic blocks and nine rapids, as well as a wooden bridge that crosses the stream. In 1988, the waterfall was restored under the direction of the nature and green space office of the Reinickendorf district, but due to financial constraints, it threatened to deteriorate again in the mid-1990s. In 1998, however, two housing and building cooperatives agreed to provide funds for the conservation of the waterfall. The waterfall is fed by pumps from the Steinbergsee.
