Knock Shrine is a place of pilgrimage and applies next to Lourdes and
Fátima as the most important Marian sanctuary in Europe.
On August 21, 1879, at 8 o'clock in the evening, the Virgin Mary is accompanied by St. Joseph
as well as the evangelist

15 people on the south gable of John the Baptist consecrated church
to have appeared in Knock. Behind them on an altar a cross and a lamb had been seen, which had been worshiped by angels. The scene had been bathed in a heavenly light.
Every year, around 1.5 million pilgrims come.
