The 350-meter-long Graal-Müritz Pier carries locals and visitors across the Baltic Sea without getting their feet wet. For around 50 years, such a walk was impossible in Graal-Müritz: After heavy seas and ice completely destroyed the piers of the towns of Graal and Müritz in 1941, construction of the current bridge only began in 1992. The inauguration of today's landmark took place just one year later. Since then, this gem has also created a visible connection between the two districts, which were officially merged by decree in 1938.
