Mountain chapel from 1667
After a prayer to spare Hofheim from the angry plague all around, Hofheim citizens laid with their dam. Pastor Joh. Gleidener made a vow to build a chapel here. And lo and behold, in Hofheim and the other parishes that took part in the vow, there was not a single plague sufferer!
So to this day, every first Sunday in July, creditors go up the mountain in a solemn procession.
The way to the chapel starts at the Kreuzweg at the barrier in front of the Forsthaus. You climb steeply in about 5 minutes. above.
Opening times May-September according to the city of Hofheim:
Visits every Sunday afternoon from 2.30pm to 4.30pm
Every Saturday at 8:00 a.m.
