The average altitude is 171 meters above sea level and the area is 8.59 square kilometers. The lake is a very bird-rich lake with many ducks and Canada geese.

Nowadays most of the wastewater is treated in sewage treatment plants. However, eutrophication remains an environmental problem that the community is working on.
