The Torre di Buccione is the last remnant of the former Castello di Buccione, a fortification from the 12th to the 14th century, which was to guard the ridges between Gozzano and Orta San Giulio. From the complex you have a fantastic view over the Lago d'Orta, with halfway clear view you can even see the snow alps. The ride takes about ten minutes from the road and is a bit of a hassle as the very generously distributed gravel slips away as soon as you leave the saddle. But the effort is worth it.

The approximately 23 meter high tower is currently not available (as of October 2019).

Beautiful historic tower. The view will probably be obscured by the trees in summer, because unfortunately it is not possible to climb the tower. But I would definitely go up there (driving is tricky).
