Beautiful road, very little traffic

Beautiful route under the cork oaks to the sound of cicadas with a glimpse of the Gien peninsula.

The picturesque Sainte-Philomène chapel is nestled against the hill of La Blaque, almost 300 meters above sea level. It offers a unique view of the plain, the Massif des Maures and the surroundings of Toulon. Built in the 11th century, it was enlarged over time. From its terrace, under venerable oaks, emerge the ruins of the medieval village of Puget.

Brignolles is an old medieval town in the Var department with narrow streets, several squares and many cafes. It is located in a good place to access other areas of the region.

The small town of La Roquebrussane in the Var. There is a wine cooperative near the entrance to the town which produces good wine. The narrow streets of the town are quite pretty. There is also a water fountain in the town if you need to refill your bottles.

This lake has its legend: it was once said to be a wheat threshing floor. But on Sint-Anna, then a holiday, two miscreants came to collect their harvest. Then a mighty spring sprang up, which drowned mules and miscreants. At Sainte Anne it seems like you can still hear them spinning at the bottom of the water and cracking their whips. From the lake, on the south bank, we reach the maze of old streets of Besse, where it is good to walk.

With an area of 4 ha, it is 33 meters deep. Canals have also been constructed to supply it with water from the Issole.

Lake Besse is fed underground by a spring whose water comes from the St Quinis massif that surrounds the village to the north.
