This charming medieval village is classified among the most beautiful villages in France and has a rich history and heritage. The Sioule gorges extend from Ébreuil, passing through Chouvigny, and as far as the meander of Queuille, in the well of Puy-de-Dôme. The road, which winds through the rocks, offers magnificent views of the steep and verdant gorges.

This beautiful castle is privately owned and cannot be visited. Its defensive aspect is explained by its geographical location. It is situated on a terrace overlooking the left bank of the Sioule River. It was therefore highly strategic. The castle's origins date back to the 11th century. It was only around the 13th century that the lords of the time understood the importance of the site for defending the southern border of their domain towards Auvergne.

The Neuvial viaduct is a work of art built in 1869 by Eiffel on the Commentry - Gannat railway line to cross a valley between the municipalities of Mazerier and Bègues, in the Allier. It is registered as a historical monument.
