This castle is located within the small village of Arçon. The GTMC passes in front, so do not hesitate to stop to contemplate it. The village is located on a height which is called a feudal mound.

This beautiful castle is privately owned and cannot be visited. Its defensive aspect is explained by its geographical location. It is situated on a terrace overlooking the left bank of the Sioule River. It was therefore highly strategic. The castle's origins date back to the 11th century. It was only around the 13th century that the lords of the time understood the importance of the site for defending the southern border of their domain towards Auvergne.
