Fatima Chapel in the tower of the former parish church. Fatima churches and Fatima chapels are church buildings dedicated to Our Lady of the Immaculate Heart of Fatima. Their patron saint is the Immaculate Heart of Mary, the day after the Solemnity of the Sacred Heart of Jesus (third Saturday after Pentecost). These churches are therefore Churches of the Heart of Mary and Churches of Our Lady. The mother church of all Fatima churches is the Basilica of Nossa Senhora de Fátima in Fátima, Portugal.

The present parish church was built in 1900, after the previous church was closed in 1898 due to dilapidation and – with the exception of the tower – demolished.

A look inside the Benedictine abbey is worth it... including a short climb with a café on site as a reward. They're said to have the best cakes...

Although the "Schuelmaister" (schoolmaster) is mentioned in the church accounts as early as 1589, when he was given new clothing, it wasn't until the end of the 18th century that a school was firmly established in the village.
