However, it was in the Middle Ages that the pilgrimage to Séant (the former name of the town of Bérulle) took on its full meaning. A village washhouse, with a reach and a diversion to regulate the water level in the washhouse. The river is the Alain, a small tributary of the Vanne. There is a picnic table and the place is quiet.
