Worth a visit, very beautiful inside and well preserved.

Former fortified village of Yonne, on the Burgundy canal, Ravières is located about sixty kilometers from Auxerre, on the banks of the Armançon river. From this point you can enjoy a view of its small port with its small private boats and cruise ships.

Next to the smithy is Count Buffon's castle with an exceptional garden. Four blast furnaces stood along the canal in its day, all near iron mines. Today the work can be visited (8 euros entrance fee) and gives a glimpse of the time.
