A futuristic suspension bridge for hikers and cyclists spans the Zschopau river. Coming from Limmritz, you have to search a bit (past the railway museum on the right) to find the start of the bridge.

From here, high above, you have a phenomenal view of the Zschopau river.

The confluence is where the Muldenradweg goes under the railway track.

The Diedenhain Viaduct is 210 meters long and 51 meters high. It is part of the Limmritz–Waldheim section of the Riesa–Chemnitz railway, also known as the Bankruptcy Mile. The costs of building the six viaducts, retaining walls, and earthworks on a stretch of just 7.5 kilometers caused the private railway company to become insolvent. In 1850, the company was nationalized, and two years later, the line was incorporated into the Niederrhein Railway as part of the Niederrhein Railway.

Such a suspension bridge is not only a connection to the other shore, but also a small moment of peace and wonder amidst nature. A beautiful place to pause for a moment and take in the beauty of the surroundings.

The reception building from 1868 and a railway depot on the intersecting railway lines Borsdorf-Coswig and Riesa-Chemnitz. The station is the central railway station of the town of Döbeln. From 1884 to 1964, Döbeln Hbf was also the terminus of the narrow-gauge railway from Oschatz. Today, like almost all station buildings, it is unfortunately no longer in the best condition and is only partially used (as in this case by a pizza delivery service).
