The route along the Meuse is beautiful and peaceful to drive and offers one or two highlights.

Beautiful view over Verdun and the Meuse valley. On the nearby main road it is wonderful to drive downhill, but uphill is only recommended to a limited extent due to the busy traffic.

Casemate Pamart – Fort de Souville This concrete machine gun bunker was built in 1917 to reinforce the defences of Fort de Souville. Designed by Commandant Pamart, the Casemate offered an easy-to-install alternative to traditional gun turrets. Equipped with two Hotchkiss machine guns, it has a field of fire of 160°, with 14 cm of armour thickness. Its compact size and robustness made it particularly suitable for use in the heavily damaged terrain around Verdun.

This small cemetery was created during the First World War at the Marceau barracks in Verdun. Originally, there were several graves of fallen soldiers, including two young men aged 20 who were posthumously awarded the Légion d'honneur. The site fell into disrepair, but in 2006 the remaining steles were restored and in 2007 moved about thirty metres to the edge of the Forêt Domaniale de Verdun.
