The German Road Museum is located in the former armory. A few exhibits are displayed in front of it. To the southeast of the old armory, fortifications from the former federal fortress of Germersheim are still preserved.

The Cultural Summer (KuSo) in Germersheim is a music festival that has been established for years and has made a name for itself far beyond the city limits and the region thanks to its diverse and sophisticated program. The special location of the festival is also very unmistakable, namely the old walls in the former fortress near the municipal music school and music academy. The excellent acoustics of the arched courtyard in the Fronte Beckers Hufeisen cultural center and the Mediterranean flair of the historic building ensemble make every event a very special occasion. Every year, the Germersheim Cultural Summer is based on the state motto of the Rhineland-Palatinate Cultural Summer initiative, which also financially supports the Germersheim Cultural Summer.
