The "Holy Water" chapel near Helfenberg is idyllically located in the Mühlviertel region, very close to the famous Maria Rast forest chapel. It is a small, wooden structure with a holy water fountain and numerous images of the Virgin Mary and saints. The spring next to the chapel is particularly valued, as it is said to have healing powers—especially for eye diseases.

The Maria Rast Forest Chapel is an idyllic gem in the Mühlviertel region, impressive not only architecturally but also spiritually. It is situated on a wooded hill at 733 meters and belongs to the parish of Helfenberg.

Here you can hear the sound of the Steinerne Mühl river flowing beneath the stones.

Beautiful chapel, but it is closed from October onwards for the winter months. If you would like to visit it, call the parish. They will open it for you.

With a voucher that we received at the hotel, we were able to visit the production facility and try all the different types. Super friendly hosts, top quality bacon and ham, and there are many other regional products there, such as honey, lard, schnapps, etc. It's worth a visit!
