The birthplace of General Lafayette (who played a crucial role in the American War of Independence) is here in a tiny Auvergne village.

Imposing building currently being restored by a team of enthusiasts. I think it can be visited (paying, to finance the restoration I imagine).

This part offers a beautiful view of the village of Saint-Pal-de-Senouire. We can see the Saint-Paul church which sits at the top of the rocky promontory on which the village was built.

Both a great craftsman in the American Revolutionary War and a leading figure during the French Revolution, he was born and spent his childhood here.
