The Sausage Retriever sculpture by artist Bernd Heinemann. Symbolism: This bronze sculpture depicts two porters with slings and sledges for hanging sausage ends. Occasion: The sculpture commemorates the over 200-year-old carnival tradition since the French period in 1810. Production: The bronze sculpture was cast by the Gescher bell foundry.
