Great dream path

The Moselsteig Trail, or rather, the dream path, continues from the restaurant/café to the left, over a small bridge... Caution ⚠️ the path goes uphill to the left!!! DO NOT go straight ahead!!! Otherwise, the trail ends on a very, very steep slope with lots of loose scree.

You can also have a beautiful view of the castle from the stream below.

A trip to Elz Castle is always a pleasure. When the weather is good, it is beautifully bathed in the sun.

In any case (if you can), walk, not take the bus. And take change (min. €2) for the hikers' car park. No card/app payment possible).

🏰Eltz Castle is a hilltop castle from the 12th century. It lies at 129 m above sea level. NHN in the Elz valley🌊. With its eight residential towers up to 35 meters high, its bay windows, roofs, half-timbering and spiers, it is the epitome of a knight's castle for the spontaneous observer.⚔️ It sits majestically in a side valley of the Moselle near Mayen. This impressive sight even adorned the 500 DM note for several decades.
