The Capitello breach is one of the most impressive passages of the GR 20. At an altitude of 2,073 meters, this passage provides exceptional panoramas of the Capitello and Melo lakes, as well as the Restonica valley.

The tour is really demanding: Uphill over gravel and scree fields On the high alpine grade, sure-footedness is required, the path is sometimes difficult to see as the old GR20 markings have faded Really steep downhill! It took us almost 5 1/2 hours of walking But incredibly beautiful

In front of the Bocca di Stagnu (coming from Haut-Asco) there are 600 meters in altitude ... 1/3 of which is steep in the forest uphill (more than 30...40%!), 2/3 of the 600 meters in altitude is rock climbing. Once you have reached the first pass (Bocca di Stagnu), you can count yourself lucky and take a well-deserved break before the path crosses the slope, continues to climb in gullies to the second pass (Bocca di a Muvrella) and from there follow the 700hm descent.

Anyone who has made it this far has already achieved a great deal! No matter from which direction. - Coming from Tighiettu, you reach the highest point of the tour, the Pointe des Eboulis, from which you go downhill or ...or to Monte Cinto, the highest mountain in Corsica with its black, vertical, triangular front. Many hikers stop here; in the distance the sea gleams.

Located at the foot of Monte Cinto, Pointe des Éboulis is the highest point of the GR 20 with its 2,607 meters of altitude. The climb from Asco takes place in a relatively demanding rocky environment. Take the time to savor the superb panoramas that open up on a clear day. You can also undertake the climb to Monte Cinto, the highest point on the island at 2,706 meters above sea level.
