The "Devonium" geological museum in Waxweiler invites visitors on a journey through time to one of the most exciting epochs of evolution. In an easily understandable way, the Devonian uses fossil plant finds to illustrate how plants left the water and conquered the land in the Devonian geological era four hundred million years ago. Unique fossil exhibits from the Köppen quarry bear witness to an eventful geological past. In 1998 the parish community celebrated the 50th anniversary of the Marian Column with several hundred believers.
