Le Chesne is located on the watershed of the Aisne and Meuse basins, on a passage to the Argonne, the "Défilé du Chesne-Populeux". In the église Saint Jacques (13th-15th century) with a square tower there is a marble statue of Saint Bernard in bishop's robes (16th century) from the Abbaye du Mont-Dieu.

The small village of Louvergny is located in Argonne. This natural region of France, which straddles the departments of Marne, Ardennes and Meuse, is a magnificent land of forest and ponds. The village is located a stone's throw from the Bairon reservoir and is home to a beautiful 12th century Romanesque church.

Located in the heart of the Ardennes, between the municipalities of Bairon and Sauville, Lake Bairon is made up of two ponds separated by a dike, for a total area of 120 hectares. The Old Pond and its reed bed have been transformed into a nature reserve (classified as a natura 2000 zone), and on the other side a water reservoir is intended for nautical activities.

Located in the country of pre-Ardennes ridges, Vendresse hosts one of the most essential tourist sites in the department. “Le Domaine de Vendresse” combines nature, culture and heritage with a dedicated space for children. Don't also miss the 12th century Romanesque church, built in white limestone from the Chémery quarries.

This section of the South-Ardennes greenway offers pretty passages while following the meanders of the canal. Numerous locks litter the route, punctuating your progress.

The commune of Montgon has a certain number of locks on the portion of the canal which crosses it. Number 14, bordered by the greenway, offers a nice setting for taking a little break.

The Bairon reservoir is an artificial lake of 120 hectares divided into two parts: one for water sports and leisure activities, the other for the observation and conservation of fauna and flora. You can follow the trails around the lake and enjoy the green landscape, the singing of birds and the peaceful atmosphere. You can even observe rare species of plants and animals in the old pond, now a nature reserve. It’s an ideal destination for a run.
