The St. Gangolf Church in the center of the village was originally built in 1719 as a replacement for an older chapel that was located on the site of the later vicarage. Due to a fire, it was massively rebuilt with stone in 1854 and received its current appearance.

The grotto "Our Lady of Lourdes" was suggested in 1938 by Father Franz Darcis. The Schönberg clergyman had expressed the wish to create a modest Lourdes grotto in the rectory garden. The community then came up with a plan to build a public pilgrim grotto. So they began to dig a grotto into the mountain with pickaxes and shovels. This project proved to be very laborious, so it was decided to commission a Flemish company to complete the grotto. A Way of the Cross was laid out on the hill behind the grotto, which initially consisted of Schönberg's seven footfalls. Later, an entire complex was made out of it. Today, the 14 stations are looked after throughout the year by several families from Schönberg and the surrounding area. The ensemble was inaugurated in 1939. Calvary and grotto are the destination of numerous pilgrims every year on August 15th (Assumption of Mary) for an afternoon and candlelight procession.

The St. Lambertus parish church dates back to the 14th century. The oldest part of the church is the tower (approx. 11th to 12th century). The choir is the second oldest part. The tower was later connected to the choir by the nave (first mention of the church at the beginning of the 14th century in the register of all parishes in the diocese of Cologne). The church in Manderfeld was built as a single-pillar church in the Gothic style, i.e. with a supporting pillar in the middle of the nave on which the vaults rest. The coat of arms of the then Elector of Trier, Richard von Greiffenclau (1467-1531), is attached to the tower. Source: Information board at the site

Like the churches of Büllingen, Amel, Thommen and Neundorf, the Manderfeld parish church may have been built on the foundations of a Franconian royal court. The parish church is a single-nave quarry stone building from the 16th century. The west tower is much older. The coat of arms of the Trier Elector Richard von Greiffenclau (on the outside of the tower) indicates a foundation.

This impressive Gothic church with a Romanesque tower is located in the center of the village. It was first mentioned in a register of all parishes in the diocese of Cologne at the beginning of the 14th century. The coat of arms of Richard von Greiffenclau zu Vollrath, Prince Bishop of Trier, is attached to one corner of the tower. He probably had the first of several changes made in the 16th century. Just start at the Mariengrotte and follow the Stations of the Cross. Enjoy the view of the village from the top of the cross. On August 15, on the Assumption of Mary, a candlelit procession takes place here in the evening.

In the center of Herresbach is the St. Gangolfuskirche. Like the many buildings in the town, the exterior of the church, with the exception of the roof, was kept in a pure white and therefore fits in perfectly with the townscape. Almost invisible.

The church in Manderfeld is dedicated to Saint Lambertus. He lived from 635 to 705, was a messenger of the faith in Brabant and bishop of Maastricht. He died as a martyr (martyr) for his Christian beliefs. The memorial day of Saint Lambertus in the calendar of saints is September 17th.

After numerous alterations and renovations to the church over the centuries, the around 100-year-old neo-Gothic high altars were rebuilt in their original location in 2011.
