Located in the commune of Anost, the Orme de Brévoigne was a very important crossroads in ancient times, passing through, among other places, the pilgrimage route to Faubouloin.

I highly recommend changing the direction of the hike from east to west. The ascent is easier than the descent through the gorge, and after the comfortable, but somewhat monotonous, forest paths, it's a perfect ending!

Nice viewpoint overlooking the Morvan mountains towards La Celle-en-Morvan and Roussillon-en-Morvan.

The Saint-Germain church formed a priory-cure donated in 1138. Rebuilt in the 16th century, its nave dates from the 12th century. At the bottom of this beautiful church, a sarcophagus dating from the 6th to the 8th century was discovered in 1979.

Nestled 550 meters above sea level, the small village of Anost is located in the heart of Haut-Morvan and its massive, rounded peaks. This former industrial capital is not far from Tavernay, Arleuf or Château-Chinon.

With its beautiful church and its great tranquillity, this village with 38 hamlets is characteristic of the Morvan de Saône-et-Loire.
