Magnificent walk along the water, then visit the underground canal along the canal in a path between the trees with holes, bumps and bends (a real treat) to finish with a nice route in the Holnon woods. I recommend it. To do either as a walk or at speed, the choice is yours!

The town of Péronne is truly charming and well worth a visit. The Somme River forms natural ponds that surround the city, giving it an undeniable appeal. Its old town is located on a small hill overlooking the entire area.

This greenway in the middle of nature offers a bucolic setting. Away from the urban bustle, this path allows you to enjoy the charms of the forest.

The Frize mountain belvedere reveals a striking view of the meanders of the Somme, in a peaceful setting that contrasts with its past marked by the battles of the First World War. Traces of this history are still visible in the trenches and shell impacts. Mentioned by Blaise Cendrars, this land rich in history today offers visitors an exceptional panorama of a landscape of marshes and ponds.

In Peronne, the Musee de la Bataille de la Somme is particularly worth seeing. Within sight of the castle is the town square and a few cafés where you can take a relaxing break.

The former fortified town of Péronne had a hard time in 1914-1918. In a modern museum, the daily life of the soldiers and the population during the First World War is vividly depicted. but Péronne is also famous for its eel and colvert beer. The city is a trading and marina on the Canal du Nord, at the confluence of the Cologne and the Somme, and extends along the fish-rich ponds and hardines, vegetable farms.
