Amazing clock tower. According to the info sign the 'twin towers' are from the 12th C and the Belfry was added at the end of the 15th C. So a very historic spot. The small square in front of the tower is peaceful and hassle-free Use one of the many clean public benches as a base to enjoy your picnic. Afterwards go to the small cafe on the corner, order and pay for your coffee and they will bring it out to your table (a slight upgrade from the bench!). I discreetly ate a clafoutis de cerise with the coffee, and no-one objected.

From the top, you have a beautiful view and are, of course, ideal for zipline fans like myself. Unfortunately, during my visit, the activities were only available to employees of a company that had rented the entire facility for the day. If you're planning a visit, it's worth checking in advance whether the park is open. The mini golf course and the summer toboggan run are definitely something for children or those with a fear of heights.

It's quite impressive when you're standing at the bottom and someone whizzes past on the zipline. But if you want to do more than just watch, check beforehand whether the facility is actually open. When I was there at the end of September 2024, a company had rented it for a team event. Luckily, I was allowed up on the first platform to take a few photos. You can also easily cycle up through the forest with a loaded trekking bike.

The Porte Horloge de Vire is an impressive wicket tower built in the 13th century as part of the city's fortifications and topped with a clock gifted by King Louis XI in the 15th century. You can admire the architecture and the statue of the Virgin Mary, believed to protect the city, as well as the exhibitions held inside the tower during the summer. La Porte Horloge is located in the center of the city and is easily accessible by bike.

If you are looking for an exciting stopover, you can go to the Viaduc de la Souleuvre. This impressive structure was built by Gustave Eiffel in the 19th century as a railway bridge, but today it is a playground for adrenaline seekers. You can challenge yourself with the activities offered at the viaduct, such as bungee jumping, ziplining, giant swing or skywalking. Make sure you don't get dizzy, as the viaduct rises 61 meters high and offers stunning views of the landscape below.

The Mont Pinçon memorial is the highest point in the Calvados department. This site was the scene of a fierce battle during World War II, when British troops captured a German radio station and observation tower located atop the hill. You can discover this history by reading the stele of the 13/18th Royal Hussars, a pink granite monument sculpted by Alain Head and inaugurated in 1996. You can also enjoy the natural beauty and panoramic views of Mont Pinçon, which is part of the Armorican massif and constitutes an ecologically sensitive area. The Mont Pinçon memorial is a privileged place to discover the past and present of Normandy.
