The area right by the harbor is quite nice. The beach isn't so great.

In the 12th century, a castle with a moat was built here. In 1569, Duke Karl conquered the town of Åhus, and the small castle was destroyed. The remaining ruins can be visited.

One of the entrances to the nature reserve. The map shows two official campsites. I couldn't find the one 7 km away (only private property). I couldn't clearly identify the one closer to the lake in the terrain either, but in the marked map area there is a picnic area where I camped. There were no problems. There is also a shelter near this picnic area, but in 2024 it was pretty dilapidated and overgrown.

Even in midsummer you should still be able to find a parking space for a car.

In the idyllic village of Kivik you can swim in the harbor basin, a restaurant with and without self-service, a playground, several ice cream shops, food trucks and a fish shop are worth a visit.
