If you are in the area, it is worth taking a look at the bridge and taking a walk to the island.

An old castle and ruins you can stroll past, overlooking the bay and the bicycle bridge.

The Frickabron suspension bridge connects two parts of the Halens Nature Reserve. It was built in 2020 and is named after a regional police officer. An information sign near the bridge tells his story.

Bäckaskog Castle has a long and colorful history with preserved visible parts from the 13th century and was originally built as a monastery.

Nice little hike around Lerjevallen

Beautiful area with three shelters, plenty of BBQ spots & benches. Two shelters are located across a bridge, firewood was provided. On the main shore there is a bathing area and jetties as well as a bathroom block with two toilets (incl. an accessible one). There is also a sitting area with charging possibilities in the block, however it was closed in September.

Very nice short hike, we really enjoyed it. Our 9-year-old dog also had fun because everything was nice and shady under the trees and he could cool off in the lake. Ideal for people who prefer short tours.

Nice trip for any level of cyklist or hikers.
