The Borgarleden trail is a picturesque hiking route nestled in the serene forests of Gävleborgs län. This trail offers a rewarding mix of natural beauty and challenging terrain. Begin your journey near Näsviken, where parking is conveniently available at Näsvikens Bygdegård or the local ski stadium. Gear up for steep ascents right from the start, which gradually level out to lighter sections in the middle, before transitioning into technically tricky paths with short, steep slopes as the trail approaches its endpoint. Along the way, take in breathtaking views of the southern Dellen lake and enjoy the historical charm of Borgarberget, home to an ancient hillfort. The trail alternates between narrow paths, wider tracks, and short stretches on small roads, all clearly marked with orange paint on trees and posts.

The shore of Lake Västra Sjusjön offers a variety of benches, a few fire pits, a toilet block and a shelter, although this is not particularly suitable for overnight stays. However, there are plenty of cosy places to put up a tent.
