A great historic place from the Bronze Age.

The Bjänleden meanders through forests and offers glimpses of lake Bjän. There are wooden boardwalks to cross over river beds. Keep your eyes peeled for blue blazes that show you the way.

On your way along the Bjänleden, you will pass several scenic rock formations that were shaped during the ice age by huge glaciers. Today, forest and moss surround the rocks.

Lift your eyes from the path for a moment, it's worth it! Through the trees you can see the beautiful lake Bjän glistening.

Nykvarnsholmen is part of Nykvarnsparken and is located at the lowest lock on the Kinda Canal. The river that runs here runs around the turbines of the power plant and thus serves as a fish ladder. The complex was even nominated for the architecture award in the Östergötland region in 2020. It is really a very beautiful complex and you can definitely spend time here.
