Ulrichshusen Castle is actually a manor house. It is beautifully situated on the Ulrichshusen Lake. The castle is used as an upscale hotel. But there is not just the castle with the small castle garden directly adjacent. Rather, it is an entire ensemble on the Ulrichshusen estate. Here you will find a good café and restaurant, among other things. The other outbuildings are used for various public events such as the Mecklenburg-Vorpommern Festival.

Ulrichshusen Castle is a manor house in Ulrichshusen, a village belonging to Moltzow in the Mecklenburg Lake District. With its three-storey main building and the typical stepped gables, it is one of the most important Renaissance buildings in Mecklenburg. The building is located on a hill on the southern shore of Lake Ulrichshusen. Today it is used as a hotel. Outbuildings of the complex are used for various public events. Since 1994, the castle has been one of the main locations of the Mecklenburg-Vorpommern Festival, which takes place every year during the summer season throughout the state. Sixty years later a great fire destroyed the castle. Bernd-Ludolph von Maltzan, Wallenstein's quartermaster, rebuilt the castle in just two years, 1624-26. Ulrichshusen sees the end of the Thirty Years' War in Swedish hands. It's always high. It is the political and economic currents that determine the fate of Ulrichshusen again and again. 1945 flight and expulsion. Then the growing chaos.
