Mora lies at the heart of Dalarna, on the shores of Lake Siljan and along the Österdalälven river. It’s world-famous as the finish line of the Vasaloppet, and in summer runners can follow parts of the same historic trail. From lakeside paths to forest tracks, the area offers varied terrain and the unique atmosphere of Sweden’s most iconic endurance event.

Bridge crossing the river, close by is a small picnic area with benches and a table. A spot to stop for a quick rest and a snack.

The trails are nice to run on, and meander around and through the nature reserve of sand coniferous forest.

In need of a break? There is a nice quiet spot with a picnic bench and table by the river. Stop by for a breather.

This is what the participants of the Vasaloppet do it all for: to finish in Mora, under this arch. In Swedish it says: 'I fäders spår för framtids segrar'. In other words: in the footsteps of our ancestors, for future victories.
