As you sit and watch the views change before you take a moment to appreciate the house-sized boulders beneath your feet and the powerful glacial forces that would have dragged them there.

Enkelinpesä is a striking broken erratic boulder, a testament to the forces of nature. This massive rock was once whole but has split over time, creating an impressive natural formation. Nestled in the forest, it offers a unique sight along the trail, inviting hikers to pause and take in its rugged beauty.

Take a pause here on your hike and you will sit among boulders as big as the shelter itself. These majestic rocks infuse this rest area with a sense of calm and safety sitting among the forest.

The Neitvuoren reitti trail offers breathtaking viewpoints showcasing the stunning Lake Saimaa archipelago. The most famous is the Neitvuori summit, but along the trail additional rocky outcrops provide stunning vantage points, especially during sunrise and sunset. As you climb this is one of three viewpoints that make the challenging ascent worthwhile, offering some of the most scenic landscapes in the region.

Hiidenkota is a great place to set up camp for the night. The kota itself is suitable for a few people sleeping inside. There’s also a place to make a fire and firewood provided. The little lake next to it is suitable for washing up as well
