new high-quality (ish, a bit narrow) bike path running alongside a recently opened light rail extension, no crossing car traffic, straight and (false) flat, also nice lakeside views for now (until blocked by houses), should extend at both ends eventually

This is the perfect spot to stop off and relax whilst looking at the splendid lake views. There is also a ladder to access the lake for a spot of swimming.

The 26 meter high red granite Pyynikki Observation Tower was built in 1929. From the platform above you can enjoy a fantastic view over Tampere and its surroundings. There is a cozy café on the ground floor where you can try the Finnish specialty "Munkki". The tower is open daily from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. (until 9 p.m. in summer).
