The bridge was designed and built in 1955 by the renowned Portuguese engineer Edgar Cardoso. Nice descent on N222

Final kilometers of N222 going along Rio Duoro. Monument at the start of N222 and Cafe in Almendra. Protected area to both sides of the road, fantastic views. Route also passes by museum with early human rock drawings.

Nice loop around Moncorvo, famous for cakes and sweets made from almonds. Climb on almost car-less N202 with epic landscape. Do not miss to have a look at the church in Moncorvo.

Super nice descent, watch out for cars, it's a narrow road and make sure your brakes work well. Then enjoy!
