Opened in April 2021, this is one of the newest trails in Portugal. The Barca D'Amieira Trail combines a walkway, a suspension bridge, and a fabulous viewpoint in a single route. The trail also offers a walk along a towpath wall and stunning views of the Tagus River.

A little bit of Indiana Jones...

Very nice descent of this small stream, waterfall after waterfall, a real pleasure but be careful it is quite slippery in places.

It's not as easy as you might think. With the rain, you risk slipping and breaking your face. Don't hesitate to start your "live tracking", it could be useful especially if you walk alone....

A small suspension bridge with lots of safety!

An extraordinarily beautiful route, with the Tagus always present and lots of entertainment that takes us from Barragem do Fratel to Barca da Amieira, where you can cross the Tagus for free on the boat. It's worth the trip and the hike too!

The river beach Praia Fluvial do Penedo Furado has a lot to offer: a large, shady natural swimming pool, beautiful boardwalks, mysterious fossils, spectacular waterfalls and small ponds connected by streams. There is a larger cafe, a picnic area with BBQ ovens and restrooms. A little more time should be planned for the short hike along the Passadiço. There is too much to see and it's always uphill and downhill.
