Very nice descent of this small stream, waterfall after waterfall, a real pleasure but be careful it is quite slippery in places.

It's not as easy as you might think. With the rain, you risk slipping and breaking your face. Don't hesitate to start your "live tracking", it could be useful especially if you walk alone....

The river beach Praia Fluvial do Penedo Furado has a lot to offer: a large, shady natural swimming pool, beautiful boardwalks, mysterious fossils, spectacular waterfalls and small ponds connected by streams. There is a larger cafe, a picnic area with BBQ ovens and restrooms. A little more time should be planned for the short hike along the Passadiço. There is too much to see and it's always uphill and downhill.

For those traveling on the EN 2, here you can relax and enjoy an immense and wonderful landscape.

This location, at an altitude of around 600 metres, offers a 360º view over a vast area, where the Serra da Lousã and Serra da Estrela stand out. This center, located about 2.7 kilometers from Vila de Rei, marks the center of the country. Here you can also find a small museum with an auditorium, bar and souvenir shop.

The remains of the castle are medieval defensive walls and bulwarks. Not spectacular, but you have a great view. Note opening hours.

Leaving Vila de Rei towards Sertã, 1.8 km later, you will find the deviation for Picoto da Melriça - Geodesic Center of Portugal, 900m later, and you will find yourself in the Geodesic Center of Portugal which means being in the center of the parents. With an altitude of 600 m, this place allows its visitor a 360º view over a vast horizon, in which Serra da Lousã stands out and, in clear weather, Serra da Estrela, is almost 100 km away. In this place there is the Museum of Geodesy. Thematic exhibition room, small auditorium, gift shop and bar, enrich this space in a place that is one of the county's references. Source: CM Vila de Rei
