Opened in July 2005, Barquinha Park quickly became an icon of Vila Nova da Barquinha, being the place chosen by the inhabitants of the municipality and the region to spend their free time. In 2012, this renowned and award-winning space hosted a unique project in Portugal, the Almourol Contemporary Sculpture Park. This artistic heritage contributed even more to its national and international recognition, while also allowing it to be used as a leisure area. Walking, jogging, taking the children to play, cycling, playing football or simply enjoying the riverside landscape are some of the activities that this space offers in a natural environment of rare beauty.

Constância, designated by the name of Punhete, is known for having been the place of residence of the poet Luís de Camões, who wrote some of his lyrical poems here, on the occasion of his exile in Ribatejo (Between 1546 or 1547).
