The water reservoir was created for the purpose of regulating the flow in the Svratka basin, preventing floods and using the water flow for energy. Vír I is part of a set of connected buildings that enable comprehensive use of the water resource. The construction of the waterworks began in 1947 and ended in 1957. In 2021, we have prepared a novelty for you in the form of a new turnstile, which you will find at the entrance to the lookout tower. The entrance fee is a uniform amount of CZK 20 per person, and the turnstile also monitors the number of visitors to the lookout tower itself. Thanks to this, everyone will have enough space around them and for the tour itself. You can also pay by card.
