The national monument De Helper is a polder mill on the eastern shore of the Paterswoldsemeer lake in the municipality of Haren, province of Groningen, in the hamlet of Nijveensterkolk. Here you can enjoy a lovely walk along the Paterswoldse Meer.

Old village church of Zuidlaren. The oldest part of St. Mary's Church, the nave, was built in the 13th century. The tower was built around 1300 and heightened in the 15th century. The current tower is 32.4 meters high. This was determined during the restoration in 1950/51 by the then owner, the municipality of Zuidlaren. The footbridge is closed (spring and summer 2025). Work is underway to expand the nature reserve south of the Zuidlaardermeer.

Only dolmen that can still be found "in the wild" in the province of Groningen. The most Northern dolmen on the Hondsrug. Slightly more South, in Midlaren, are D3 and D4 in Drenthe. Both along the Pieterpad.
