Oldenstädter See near Uelzen. The quarry lake was created during the construction of the Mittelland Canal and is now ideal for swimming, fishing and water sports. There is a hiking trail around it and opportunities to stop for refreshments (at least in summer).

Oldenstädter See is there “for everyone”: sun worshipers and water lovers will get their money’s worth on the extensive natural beach. Dogs can also enjoy the cool water within a designated area in the southwest of the lake. There is also a water area reserved for surfers and drivers of smaller boats without engines. Biotopes offer a retreat for plants and animals. There is a beautiful circular path around the lake for relaxed walks with a view of the water.
