Discover this insight in Worpswede, too. The Weyerberg awaits you on foot, by bike, and with a nature and educational experience on guided tours. Instead of us writing, discover the "smallest mountain world in the north"! The most beautiful and quickest access to the Weyerberg is the Lindenallee in Worpswede. You read that right, the most beautiful access! Come on foot or by bike. From the central parking lot on Bergstrasse, go directly onto the Lindenallee, past the tourist information office. DO NOT come by car. The road eventually ends at a dirt road and circles the mountain. The summit can only be reached without a car! From the Lindenallee, a dirt road immediately to the right leads to the Worpswede Cemetery by the church. Many famous artists are buried there. (Source: https://www.worpswede-tipps.de/weyerberg/)

What is the Barkenhoff? One of the first sights in Worpswede is the Art Nouveau Villa Barkenhoff, built by Heinrich Vogeler starting in 1894. Discovering the Barkenhoff is often the beginning of an exciting visit to Worpswede. Although Fritz Mackensen is considered the founder of the artists' colony, one of Worpswede's great landmarks, the Barkenhoff, was created by Heinrich Vogeler. The Barkenhoff now houses the Heinrich Vogeler Museum. The building itself is a landmark, almost synonymous with the "Artists' Village of Worpswede" brand. The Barkenhoff and the Art Nouveau garden are perhaps the most photographed sights in the municipality of Worpswede.
