Beautiful area below the castle ruins with castle park and distillery, definitely worth a trip.

In order to comply with the von Hardenberg's distilling rights, which were first documented in 1700, a proper distillery was set up in the 19th century. Including the expansion of the north side, which serves as a grain store with drying and cleaning facilities, the entire facility today bears the name "Hardenberg Hinterhaus" The court was built in 1720. The prison cells can still be found in the vaulted cellar today. Next to the house is the entrance to the castle ruins!

There is a lot to see around the distillery in Hardenberg. This Monday even the wild boar shop was open. There were various coffee specialties and alcoholic beverages to go to buy during the Corona period. We were served by a very, very nice saleswoman.

Organic farm in the Rodetal. Sheep, alpacas and Galloway cattle can be seen, there is a small farm shop on site, e.g. with honey from our own production. If you want to support your local farmer, you've come to the right place!
