The heath village of Undeloh and its surrounding districts are located in the heart of the Lüneburg Heath Nature Reserve. The view of the glacial valley from here is probably the most beautiful, but it is also the busiest, as the easiest way to get there from Wilsede is via the Hermann-Löns-Weg. Undeloh the charming village in the Harburg district When the heather blooms from August, this patch of earth (Lüneburg Heath Nature Reserve, here Nordheide) turns into a shining sea of purple heather. In the middle of it all lies the town of “Undeloh”. For us, one of the most beautiful places in the heath with its extensive forests and picturesque landscapes. Tall oak trees, half-timbered courtyards and historic buildings characterize the Heidedorf. There is something for young and old. PS: Some paths are purely hiking trails and cycling is not permitted there. In many ways it is difficult to do thanks to the “Roman road surface”.

Radenbachtal, Schmale Aue, Döhler Heide, Totengrund, Wilsede and finally the Wilseder Berg. The “Heideschleife Radenbachtal” hiking trail is long at a good 20 km, but entertaining. Behind the Heide Adventure Center at the hiking car park, the Heideschleife crosses the Radenbach, which is still very small here. First as a narrow path in a sparse oak forest. The valley floor on the right is fenced off over long stretches. Wild horses live here. More than 30 Dülmen horses keep the heathland open in the Radenbachtal. The animals that are genetically closest to the wild horse chew grass and wire grass, which deprive the heath of light. After 3 kilometers in the Radenbachtal, the Heidschnuckenweg branches off and takes the Pastor-Bode-Weg to Wilsede. Shortly after the junction there is a path into the Schmale Aue valley. A short break at the jetty. Green in all shades. Fresh, clear water. White sand. Bushes, alders. Listen to the splashing of the water. Dreaming to the vibrations of water plants. A nice break. The hiking trail leads through the pine forest to Döhle. The grassy path reaches the edge of the forest. Provides a view of the idyllic meadow. At Döhle, the Radenbachtal heath loop crosses the Schmale Aue again. The Döhler Heath begins at the sheepfold. Wide, mostly flat heathland areas. Then two kilometers through the cool forest. The graveyard suddenly opens. Hardly expected perspective from below into the famous valley floor. The path goes along the southern edge of the basin up to the viewing point at the memorial stone for Andreas Thomsen (see Wilseder Berg heath loop). The view of the Totengrund with its numerous juniper columns is probably the most famous photo motif in the Lüneburg Heath and a real highlight of the tour.

The heath is worth a hike at any time of year.
